Video: SAVES THE DAY "Holly Hox Forget Me Nots"

WOW! Can't believe it's been fifteen years since "Through Being Cool" came out! SAVES THE DAY were so good back then. I saw them with KID DYNAMITE in Detroit, MI. Fun times.

Great Quote from Thomas Paine ~

"I love the man that can smile in troubles - that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. It is the business of little minds to shrink; but he, whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."

"I dwell not upon the vapours of imagination, I bring reason to your ears; and in language as plain as A,B,C, hold up truth to your eyes."

- Thomas Paine, American Crisis I

Rights of the Accused "Innocence" [Great Chicago Punk Band!] 'ROTA'

Great song from an underrated hardcorepunk band from Chicago. I first heard this song on the radio show, "All Out Attack" or just "The Attack" for short. It was hosted (and maybe founded?) by a guy named 'Bill Bored' on WCBN 88.3 FM, Ann Arbor, MI. This is the University of Michigan's radio station. The show aired on Friday nights from 10 - 11 pm, if I recall correctly. We used to tape the show every week. It was the only way we had to hear about new hardcorepunk music back then. I still have a few of the tapes from 1986 - 1989. Cool stuff! Bring back the 80's!!

Video: ALL 'Punk Rock Bowling' 2014 Festival Full Show!!

Black Flag "My War"

My favorite song from the "My War" album. Rollins is great on this. Yes, he is my favorite BF vocalist. Now there. Piss off.

Video: "411" Live in Long Beach, CA 1991 // Dan O. from NO FOR AN ANSWER & CARRY NATION -- Super Rare Footage

Great full show from 411 around the "This Isn't Me" album / tour back in 1991!! Pretty rare stuff actually, considering there's just not a lot of live 411 on YouTube -- or anywhere else on the interwebz for that matter.  In case you didn't know, Dan O'Mahoney, the singer of 411, also sang in NO FOR AN ANSWER, CARRY NATION, SPEAK 714, GOD FORGOT, and more recently another band whose name escapes me at this moment. He also wrote an excellent column for MRR (Maximum Rock-n-Roll) fanzine during, I believe, the late 90's thru early 90's. Or maybe early to mid 90's. I've always loved Dan's vocal delivery, and for the most part, his lyrical content.  Dan O. is no longer straightedge, and he owns a bar/club somewhere in Cali.  Regardless, he's still a solid guy in my book (though admittedly I've never met him & don't know him --I just feel like I do through his music and his well written monthly articles from MRR) and a hardcore punkrock legend of sorts.
This video (and many, many great others like it) were recently uploaded to YT via a great new channel called "Come Join Friends."  Lots of awesome 80's/90's hardcorepunk like SHELTER, YOUTH OF TODAY, GORILLA BISCUITS, INSIDE OUT, and several other Revelation Records bands and straightedge stuff.  Subscribe to their channel to keep abreast of their new (old) videos on YT and get into it!! -Always Use Love, m//r.

SAMIAM "Don't Break Me'' Live in Philly 9-25-93 [With Lyrics]

"Sitting in the corner

 Don't know what to think

 I can't speak

I sink a little deeper with every drink

 I try to sleep
I shut my eyes

Like a leaky faucet fear floods the room

 The one that drips away

 Patiently by day

It was either lost or it was stolen but
It's been missing for too long

 I woke up one morning

 I couldn't see the sunrise

 I can't recall

The exact moment now

but
It began some time ago

 And it makes me wonder

after all I've done

What have I got to show?

What have I got to show
What have I got to show"

 I'm aggravated
I'm what you created

 Now don't break me"

FRAIL "Make Your Own Noise" // Real Emotional Hardcore aka "Emo"

FRAIL were a fantastic emotion hardcore, aka "emo" band from Pennsylvania, who
were active in the early to mid 90's.  I never got to see them that I recall.
I had three of their 7" records released on: Earthwell Recs, Kidney Room Recs,
and Bloodlink Recs.  Later on, maybe in '99 or so, Scott Beiben of Bloodlink
Records released all of FRAIL's music onto one convenient CD format.
"Make Your Own Noise" is the name of it.
FRAIL play very loose, chaotic, jangly political hardcore.  If you guessed
that they were on the far left of the political spectrum, you'd guess correctly.
Polar opposite of my political beliefs, but a fantastic band nonetheless.
This music is emotionally drenched hardcore punk.  Not the tough guy kind
of hardcore, but the introspective political type.  Well done.  I forgot what the
members went on to do afterwards, but I think one of the dudes played in gothic
influenced post-hardcore band, INK & DAGGER.  They released something on
Initial Records, formerly out of West Bloomfield, MI but relocated to Louisville,
Ky, run by the talented business man Andy Rich.  Initial Recs are the folks who
put on 'Krazy Fest' every summer during the late 90's / early '00's.

INFEST Live Set From "Destroy LA 2013 Fest" Get Into It!! ~

This is just great! Excellent drummer, excellent sound, excellent show. Another band I didn't get into during their hey-day. Like 'em now.   Again, this fkn drummer!!  He looks to be in his late 40's, which he probably is, and he is playing on a little Fischer Price drum kit, but he's a fkn rager!  This is a bad-ass video.  The videographer has several full live sets up on YouTube.  I'm trying to watch all of his vids, and I will update this post with more of 'em.  Cheers, you bastards!

RVIVR Full Live Set Nov. 18, 2013 // Excellent Melodic Hardcore Punk Inside!! ♥

Great band! Hardcore & hardcorepunk. It's all the same. TERROR? BANE?! TRAPPED UNDER ICE? Hardcore. Hardcorepunk. RVIVR! It's all good to me. Some parts of RVIVR remind me of ooooold MONEEN. Weird. Weird that they sound like old MONEEN or that MONEEN was good at one point?! Both. Remember when SAVES THE DAY was good? '99....First two great albums. Then no more. None no more. 108. On top of the world or on your "Death Bed?" Death Bed, great song. Great watching live videos of that song from 1993. I was there, front & center. Always. SHELTER, 108, FALLING FORWARD, EMPATHY, CHOKEHOLD, STRIFE, INTEGRITY, it's all good. All good to me.

RVIVR "Edge of Living" Live with Excellent Sound!!

RVIVR.....fuckin' awesome sing-along, catchy, DIY underground hardcorepunk band!! Someone turned me on to them about five years ago. I loaded their "Derailer" 7" record (ostensibly a record put out to benefit an indie bicycle sales/repair shop...thus the record title "Derailer") on to an old mp3 player but never listened to it. About three months later I was waiting at the bus stop and it was pouring rain, dark as hell, no jacket and of course no umbrella, when my mp3 player automatically played that 7". I was totally shocked at how good they are! This live clip has awesome sound also! Get into it!
