EEK-A-MOUSE "Live at Long Beach 1983" Audio Only--

Here is an old EEK-A-MOUSE live recording from 1982. He may or may not be backed here by ROOTS RADICS, as they backed him on his first few recordings. And the ROOTS RADICS also backed every other reggae artist in Jamaica!

Bob Marley's Greatest Songs Audio Mix Jah Rastafari--

It's always the right time to listen to Bob Marley! Bob was half White & half Black. His White British father abandoned him & his mother because he was a coward and unwilling to fulfill his manly duties. Thank God Bob didn't inherit that character defect from him.  Bob could've chosen to hate White folks and hold a permanent resentment against the entire White race, as a descendant of slaves and also having a White father who dipped out on him.  I most definitely do not think he did whatsoever. In fact, he refrained from degrading & belittling talk about White people, vis a vis the White people alive today who abhor the idea of slavery and of course have never owned slaves. That wasn't his m.o. He wanted to elevate Black men & women, not stomp down on other racial groups. He wanted peace, unity, and the dignity of every man and woman on earth to be recognized & respected. He wanted a just world where common sense and justice prevail. He never asked for nor talked about "special rights" or anything outrageous or beyond the pale.
I want the same things for everyone. The Black race, White race, the Asian race, every ethnic & racial group is a child of God. We should love each other even in situations where we don't LIKE each other.
Of course, I don't know his private talk or everything he said, and he is a human being like everyone else, a man who often fell short, has faced temptation, and experienced anger.  Nobody should be judged on things they may have said in anger or in jest or because they had bad information. Bob Marley's good far outweighed any bad charter defects or thinking he may have had.
He brought people together and encouraged people to NOT use violence! His music was his weapon! But his music, when it hit, you felt no pain at all.
In the end, he joined the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and re-converted to Christianity!! God bless your soul. I have no doubt that you are with the Father in heaven.
R.I.P. Bob Marley

One of the best mixes here! But really, how could you go wrong with a Bob Marley mix?!

One hour of the Best Roots Rock Reggae Jah Rastafari--

This is a terrific mix!
One of the best!
It flows nicely, with boss reggae tunes. It is how I first heard "Black Roses" by the highly talented Barrington Levy.

Jimmy Cliff "One More" Video! Music From the Great Legend!!

New song from the legendary reggae artist Jimmy Cliff, with Tim Armstrong from OPERATION IVY/RANCID/THE TRANSPLANTS playing guitar!!  Really great stuff, especially some of the other videos showing studio footage of the two.  Tim is also the one who released all three of Joe Strummer's (R.I.P.) records (Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros) on his label, Hellcat Records.  Hellcat is owned by Tim Armstrong, and it's kind of a subsidy of Epitaph Records, which is owned by Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion.  I think it's just great how older punk & reggae meet up with modern hardcorepunk.  It's a small world after all...LOL, I'll have THAT song stuck in my head for days now. Oy vey!  Seriously, get into this!  Good stuff!! m//r

RANCID Every Album, All Songs in Chronological Order!! & Some of My Musings--

AWESOME!!! Make sure to start from song #1 'cuz YouTube screws up all the time and randomly starts wherever it wants to on users playlists! But listen, this kid compiled all of RANCID's songs, from each album and made one f'n long playlist! Sure, there are a few things missing, like the first 7", the "B-Sides & C-Sides" comp. CD, etc. But heck, this is totally rad! Seriously makes my night!!
See you bastards in the pit! m//r
[little update Fri nite 9.27.13 --watching the "Give 'em the Boot" DVD and relaxing at home. Writing in my journal, surfing the web, and reading books. This is what I do. And I'm trying to do it with love. Went to Mass today at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church here in Ypsilanti. Nice Mass said by Fr. Bob. Today is the feast day of St. Vincent dePaul. I love you all. m//r ♥♥♥]

"Roots Radicals "// "King of the Jungle"// "In The City" Tim Timebomb & Friends --

Pretty cool cover of RANCID's "Roots Radicals" done by Tim Armstrong under the moniker 'Tim Timebomb & Friends'. Is it a "cover song" if you wrote the song to begin with? TA & Friends is, of course, Tim Armstrong aka "Lint" from RANCID, TRANSPLANTS, and OPERATION IVY. This is very cool. This project he's doing has released 80 songs so far! Lots & lots of well done cover songs as well as RANCID songs and some originals. Usually acoustic guitar & piano and also some non-acoustic songs. My favorites so far are "King of the Jungle" by LAST RESORT & "In the City" by The JAM!  I edited this post & put them up after this one.  Damn, there are so many great cover (and originals!) that I could post all 80 or so up here. Just check these ones out then go to YT and listen to them all.  RANCID is playing here in Detroit in less than two weeks. I was originally supposed to go with my friend Ann--an old girlfriend--but I have a feeling that we aren't going together. And to be quite honest I can't really afford the $25+ it will cost. Nothing bad happened between her & I, and we are still friends. I'm just not feeling the whole 'go to a concert and night out on the town' thingy with her. I need to keep some distance because I truthfully have more important things going on in my life at this juncture.

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.--
And hell, may the force be with you too.--

Watch each others backs.
Not WASH each others backs, WATCH each others backs.--

Make room for the next guy.--

Give 'em enough rope.--

Hang on & never let go.--

Never let the bastards grind you down.
With love, m//r ♥

Here's their (his, really) cover of LAST RESORT's "King of the Jungle"

And here is their competent cover of "In The City" originally done by Paul Weller & The JAM!
