The "Atacama" Humanoid Creature--

This being is not human, says many people a lot smarter than me.  It's got a substantial amount of unexplained DNA.  This little Extraterrestrial Humanoid is kinda cute.  I'd like to see a scientists rendering of what it probably looked like with "skin."

Mount Athos Documentary--

This is a smaller production documentary than the CBS "60 Minutes" one done several years back.  Of course CBS has more money at their disposal.  In many ways this documentary is mysterious and beautiful!  I have been fascinated with Mount Athos, Greece for ten years now, ever since I read Basil Pennington's, "The Monks of Mount Athos" book.  Since then I've read a dozen books on the Holy Mountain and watched countless videos as well.  Check this out, stay calm, and pray, "Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me a sinner." Amen.

BORN WITHOUT A FACE Demo from 1985--

This is great, and new to me!  I've never heard this before, but I did have the one great 7" they officially put out in the mid 1980's.  BORN WITHOUT A FACE were an excellent early hardcore band from the Detroit, Michigan area.  Though I'm not certain about that, as they just might be from the West side of the state, maybe Grand Rapids.  That's the slight memory recall I'm getting.  Of course I could just search around the interwebs a little, but that makes things too easy and makes you lazy.  The first song on here is just rippin!  I first heard it on the local college radio station, WCBN 88.3, on the hardcore music show, "All Out Attack" hosted by our friend and mentor, Bill Bored!!  Fun, drunken Friday nights with friends recording the radio show while we heard all kinds of new hardcore music!  Yep, that's the main way we discovered new punk music, via college radio.  You had to actively seek out this type of music.  I miss those days a lot...

CURRENT Discography CD--

CURRENT from Detroit, Michigan.  One of the greatest emotional hardcore bands of all time!  The singer, Matt, also ran council records, played in a bunch of other punk bands, most notably my favorite, CALVARY.
This here is a crucial band, you should definitely listen to the link, and look for the physical CD, however hard it might be.

KNUCKLEDUST "Songs of Sacrifice" Full Length--

This is a couple of years old at this point, but still very new to me.  I saw another post on YT from El Guapo TV, of an INDECISION/KNUCKLEDUST split 12"/CD.  That was pretty sweet so I found this record and I'm really diggin' it!  Direct from London, England, hard as nails hardcore laced with metal and plenty of mosh parts to go around!!  The vocal delivery sounds like a cross between FIRST BLOOD & BLOOD FOR BLOOD!!  Nothing particularly ground breaking here, it's just tough, heavy-ass hardcore done the way it's supposed to be done...  Check it out! ♠️♠️♠️

GUILT TRIP "Unrelenting Force" EP from the UK--

Great release here from this British band, GUILT TRIP!  They've got that 80s thrash sound going on, much like POWER TRIP from Texas.  Another good band.  Wonder what kind of trip would happen if these two bands met up?!?  LOL!

KEEP THEM SHUT "Stray Rats" EP from Germany--

I'm digging this!  New band doing something a bit different in the hardcore realm.  The opening song is an instrumental that sounds rad!  Vocals kick in in the second song, and are gonna take a bit of getting used to.  But as I said, I'm digging this.  Cool band name too.

CLIKITAT IKATOWI full length from 1995--

This was released on Gravity Records in 1995.  The drummer, Mario R., went on to play with Dan O. (NO FOR AN ANSWER, SPEAK 714 & CARRY NATION) in 411 and then more recently, OFF! (with Keith Morris of the CIRCLE JERKS & BLACK FLAG).
The drums stand out the most on this record, and that's because Mario Rublaca is a bad ass drummer.  Someone said he was in HOT SNAKES, with guys from ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT, is that true???

NO YOUTH promo/advance release 2016

This has got some TRAPPED UNDER ICE groove to it.  But it's also got me thinking of good D.R.I. at times.  I like this, it feels solid and I can't wait to hear more from them?  NO YOUTH!!

HIT LIST "No Chance in Hell" 7" Record--

I guess this is one of those newer South Florida hardcore bands that have been popping up recently.  I'm not super keen on the vocals, but overall this is a great effort!!  xHIT LISTx

PLUNGER s/t LP (1997 Emotional Hardcore!)

Self titled album from the late 1990s hardcore band, PLUNGER!  I honestly don't even remember this band.  Stumbled across this record on YouTube and I definitely had to share it.  Sounds like a cross between STILL LIFE & RITES OF SPRING with a dash of EMBRACE!!  That's a good thing!

New hardcore band with a female singer.  This is catchy and brings to mind some late 80's hardcorepunk bands.  I definitely want to find a download link to snag this!

Fred Smith from BEEFEATER is Murdered--

He Struck A Chord in Heavy Metal, Punk and Goth: Fred-Freak Smith, who was fatally stabbed in Las Palmas Park in San Fernando on Aug. 8, was not just an aimless transient, possibly homeless, who unfortunately became just another crime statistic.

DOGGY STYLE "Emotions"

I remember hearing this song on "The All Out Attack" radio show on WCBN 88.3.  Ann Arbor, MI. 1987 or so.  Good band here!

Mount Athos

Four Days in Byzantium: A Pilgrimage to Mount Athos

Four Days in Byzantium: A Pilgrimage to Mount Athos - ARCADE: At the end of the service, after the monks left with their stern but beatific expressions, I stepped out to the terrace, hundreds of feet from the sea. At the distance the sun shimmered, calming the waves of the Aegean. The morning was all aglow. Was I beholding a revelation?

EMPATHY "Under The Lost Smile" // CURRENT "Coliseum" // DRIFT AGAIN 7" ~1990's Hardcore At Its Best

Remember those days. Size XXL FALLING FORWARD shirts, Krishna choker beads, fanzines bound with yarn, vegan brownies, and back packs in the pit...Ahhh, the lost days of original hardcore. Cute hardcore chicks with barretts in their hair, bleach blond bowl cuts (on the guys!), and endless ideas screamed with naive wide eyes! Where is everyone?

Behind the Monastery Walls (Romanian documentary with English subtitles)

An absolutely beautiful & positive documentary. Monastic monks & nuns who love Jesus Christ with their entire mind, soul, body, and strength. It is a peaceful & loving situation that they choose to LIVE. Death to the world--death to the materialistic passions of this gross plane. We are stuck in this muck, treading water & living on borrowed time. The mortality rate for humans is 100%. Sometimes I wonder, 'what exactly am I supposed to do HERE? Why was I manifested on this globe? What does the Lord want from me? Anything? Nothing?' I'm of the opinion that the Lord wants nothing in particular from me. He gave me freewill, and I am to choose to LOVE.

More Books From My Shelf // KEEP READING!!

I really want to list & post here every book I have sitting on my shelves, and in stacks & piles surrounding me.  Mostly to let people know what I'm made of how I think, where I'm coming from, etc.  You absorb ideas, views, attitudes & mannerisms from the people you surround yourself with.  I completely believe the same is true with what you read (and watch, but I don't watch TV....maybe just too many "conspiracy theory" or "truther" YouTube videos).
Keep, keep reading!!  Paper books.  Real books. Hell, write a book!!  Yes, I have a Kindle & between my laptop & that device I have about a thousand digital books.  It's nice but there will never be an adequate 'replacement' for the printed book.  I'm not saying anything new.  Just keep reading.
